The Arthadipika is an important and lengthy commentary on the Shikshapatri, written by Lord Swaminarayan’s disciple Shatananda Swami. When Lord Swaminarayan was first shown Shatananda Swami’s Arthadipika, he praised it before the assembled devotees with the words, “What I was desiring to convey through each of the words, the same has been expressed exactly by Muni Shatanandji.” Prof. Monier-Williams mentions making a careful study of the Arthadipika in the introduction to his English translation published in 1882.
